MYRTLE BEACH The Myrtle Beach Seahawks boys basketball has finally got it?s first win under its belt with a 70-67 victory over Mullins on Friday.
?It was close,? Myrtle Beach coach Craig Martin said. ?Mullins is a really good team and they made a little run in the third quarter to tighten it up a little bit. It came down to execution at the end, and we did relatively well and hit our free throws down the stretch.?
The Seahawks entered the fourth quarter with 48-46 deficit, and outscored the Auctioneers by five in the fourth quarter to secure a win. Norin Butler had a team-high 20 points for Myrtle Beach, and Solomon Cooper added 12.
?It was excellent,? Martin said of his team?s performance. We played team first, and I think you can tell by the score, we spread the ball out and that?s what we want. Our kids really played unselfish.?
